My Food Philosophy.

I do not believe that eating well should be difficult or complicated. If we simply consider where our food has come from and how it was made, we are on the right path.

Here are some of my recommendations to using food as medicine:

  1. Eat Wholefoods
Nature provides us with an abundance of fresh food that is beaming with nutrients. Eat foods that are naturally occurring in nature & eat the rainbow.

  2. Consider the source (meat)
If you are a meat-eater, considering how an animal was raised is hugely important not just from a nutrient standpoint but also from an ethical and environmental standpoint. Always choose animals that are pasture-raised, free to roam in nature.

  3. Consider the processing

Anything that comes wrapped in plastic or cardboard has undergone some level of processing. Processing of food devoid it of nutrients and the many additives in processed foods are not good for our health. If you buy anything out of a packet, consider all the additives such as preservatives, sugars, emulsifiers etc that enable it to to remain stable in your cupboard.

Fill up 95% of your shopping basket with wholefoods - Fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, pastured eggs, pastured meat, with the few remaining ingredients being pantry staples.

  4. Preparation
Home-cooked meals, made with love are the most nourishing meals you can eat. When you use fresh, whole ingredients they require very little to taste delicious. I encourage you to reconnect to the lost art of preparing a meal. If you are lacking time and inspiration, check out some of my wholefood recipes.
